Aug. 23 001

Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. -Romans 13:11

Luscious!

How does one eat a fresh fig? Is the skin edible?

Yes! We just bite into them. The skin is soft and the insides are sweet and juicy. My six year old son Buddy begs to eat them right off the tree. I negotiate with him to collect enough to cook them into gluten free fig cookies or make jam. I posted about that here.

Very cool! We've started to go to a specialty grocery store that recently got fresh figs. I think I'll pick some up the next time we're there. I've only tried dry figs until now, and it was like chewing leather. :-/
