Sunday Afternoon Creek Walk

fall path

creek in fall

Gorgeous days here. We are out in the woods every weekend. Monday through Friday I drive past this park, which is in a valley right in the heart of the city, to and from work. It's all I can do to keep on the road and get myself actually to work, remain seated in the air conditioned library all day, and drive back through it again to pick my son up before the daycare closes. I feel like I am losing time, missing gold, letting wonder slip past my car windows.

Who is this big-head boy? What is in his future?

Fall Woods Walk

Hiked at Ft. Washington State Park yesterday. Lovely fall colors coming on. It was overcast so the light was muted.

Train bridge went above us and the creek.

a second cup

This little guy wakes me up and keeps at it all day long. His nest is in the birdhouse on the porch. I know it's summer when I take my second cup of coffee on the porch with him.

The Friday Poetry Roundup is over at Carol's Corner. Enjoy!

Week of photos

Started a new job and I don't have as much time to take or post photos. Here are a few from this weekend.

Can you believe the first crocuses are out today? This is the earliest I have ever seen them around here. It's kind of scary.

Got to about 50 degrees with sun and blue skies today. Hard to complain about that!

Puck's Pinewood Derby

Puck's Pinewood Derby car is the red one. We came in the middle of the pack; not the fastest but not the slowest. Pretty good for the first time!
